I drew the template for this piece at Grandma's house. She is amused by the fact that I can belt out a dragon like this within a two-hour period. Inking it took quite a bit longer.
Digital PNG file of a pen and ink drawing. The one on the left is the original orientation.
Its in the pile.
I love their designs!
Yes, this one is balanced enough that it might work as a tattoo design. Besides, tribal designs and spiky bits never go out of style.
These line drawing projects keep me out of trouble during my lunch break at work, and I *love* seeing how other artists color them. Their color schemes inspire me to try new color schemes that I'd not have thought of otherwise.
I'd love to see what you can do with my lines if you've the time.
It is great that your Grandma can see your artwork!!!
I'm glad she's still around to see how things have progressed over the years. She did quite a bit to get my brain going - she introduced me to a couple of my favorite authors whose creature concepts leak into my work with alarming frequency. She's a fantastic inspiration, anyway.
I loved drawing all those spiky things. I think I need to do more like this...
The pencil drawing, which was just the left-hand dragon, took about two hours. Inking it took another three or four hours. Scanning and digital clean-up took another hour.
O.O thats a long time.
