Spring Exuberance

This is the final version of Spring Exuberance, complete with the layering and framing and all that jazz. This is part one of a four-part project I'm doing as a trade with .

I used very nearly everything but the kitchen sink in this project (but I used the bathroom sink...). The dragon is comprised of ink, Prismacolor pencil, and gold paint pen over a watercolor underpainting. There are ivy stickers, pearly bits, shiny bits, abalone shell beads (in the middle), adventurine beads, azurite beads, nylon flowers, iridescent mylar film, acrylic "rain dots" on the outside frame bit, and a whole lot of acrylic on all of the big green areas (outer frame, inner frame, and deep background).

This picture is 16 inches tall, 20 inches wide, and about an inch deep. I'm using a shadowbox as the final frame that will hang on the wall.

This picture was made entirely with traditional media, but I scanned in each individual part and reassembled it in Photoshop for the version that you see here.
