Randall the Rambunctious cover art by rachaelm5 Randall the Rambunctious cover art by rachaelm5

This is cover art for Melanie Hatfield's Kingdom of the Snark novella, A Tale of Randall the Rambunctious.  It features sentient, malevolent... dandelions.

The story will be available soon for electronic readers.  I will post links as soon as Melanie makes them available.

I created the dandelion centerpiece with Prismacolor pencils and ink; the rest is Photoshop.

There's a reason they're called 'Lion's Tooth' in certain language.

Heh heh heh...  Yes, so *someone* out there knows what these things are planning for their hapless human hosts...

Did you just say sentient, malevolent... dandelions. |'D That sounds like a story worth reading. (Though it was about time to show what dandelions really are. They invade every backyard, grow through asphalt and are found basically everywhere every damn spring. Dandelions can't be good. :noes:)

LOL - Yes, the dandelions are out to get us every year!  I believe this story features dandelions taking their revenge...  :giggle:

Very true. |D
Or in some cases the whole dandelion population is so short already that the lawnmower is ineffective anyway...

I strongly suspect that short dandelions are an *evolutionary* advantage!

Thanks!  Fun and pretty easy, if a little time-consuming.  It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with the floral theme along the edges.  :-)

Yeah. Book covers are hard to conceptualize. Especially when going for a "classic" look.
