This started off as an ordinary-enough idea, it really did. Angry Predator. Rocks go boom. That kind of thing. But over time, the idea mutated into this shapeshifting Predator god, not necessarily
an angry one, caught in the act of drawing cosmic matter together to create a new world.
This piece was a texturing exercise to a great extent. I wanted to play with the pebbly texture on the rocks, and then the smooth shape and texture of those glyphs carved into them. I also wanted to be able to "read" the Predator and all his floating body parts against that pebbly texture, so there was some experimentation involved in order to get him to show up properly. Lots of fun.
The glyphs will be colored - something neon, I expect - and that may well be the only color in the piece. It will reflect off of the god's various body parts to give the picture a cool, mysterious feeling. Edit: post-coloring: EPIC FAIL on the simplicity front... *facepalm*
