Think "Music of the Spheres" meets Draconus splendidae.

What if there were some dragons that evolved on Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and other worlds? I started thinking about this and came up with some very odd phenotypes - for some reason, praying mantises kept coming to mind. Jovian Dragon is the first of the series.

I drew Jovian on a chunk of illustration board that had already been painted with an acrylic wash. I used ink first, then went in with colored pencil and did shadows with red and orange, and highlights with white and yellow. This is one of my favorite dragon designs.

Another amazing piece......just wow. You make good use of the black for detailing parts of the dragon.

Quite impressive, and very detailed, swirling almost. Looks almost more alien than recognisably dragon :)
