Here is a JPG version for anyone who has trouble with the PNG.

...............................................................................

This was originally for the Tremorworks bestiary, but I thought it would be a fun one to color, too.  The snake I used as a model is one of those cute little arboreal guys from Africa.  Horribly poisonous, but oh, those EYES!  :giggle:

I did do Yamata no Orochi for the Tremorworks collection, but I don't think I have it up here in DA right now.  We ended up with a large proportion of both Greek and Japanese monsters for this particular bestiary.

Orochi's got eight heads. The Hydra has nine.

Yamata no Orochi, you mean?  Nope, this is the Greek-inspired hydra.  The Japanese version is fuzzier.  :-)

If it had eight heads, this would've been the perfect candidate for me to recreate Orochi on.

My version of Orochi's got dragonish heads, though. I shamelessly based him off his appearance in Okami.

Heck, if this had seven heads, that would be Kusanagi, Orochi's lieutenant in my mythos, right there. I based him off the Hindu snake Ananta Shesha.
