I generally take several hundred pictures of clouds when I go on road trips. I love clouds. Something about the blue and the white is very calming to my mind.
These clouds are over various bits of Colorado, taken at campgrounds up around Taylor River Reservoir, and on the roads to and from the area.
I miss clouds so much, there's not many interesting ones usually around Washington One thing I miss about Colorado is the storms. Oh boy, the clouds can get so awesome! Tall and dark and roiling and monstrous lol
Even plain ol' Kansas is good for cloud formations during the stormy parts of the spring and summer, but Colorado is still one of my favorite spots because the formations change so rapidly up in the mountains.
That was certainly part of its appeal! I was also impressed by the sheer scale of the cloud formation - it doesn't show up well in the photo, but that thing took up half the sky.
...Especially when I can watch them build from fluffy little cumulus clouds to monstrous-huge cumulonimbus, complete with lightning and hail, inside half an hour. That's one of the best parts of visiting Colorado in the summer... But I may be the only member of my family that thinks so.

Yep, plus Colorado has the beautiful mountains as well
